Saint Brendan of Birr was a monk who lived in Ireland a long, long time ago. Everybody knew that he was a very spiritual man who welcomed people into his home. He was respected by everyone because he was so close to Jesus.

Today is know as “Black Friday” in the U.S. because a lot of stores offer special sales to get people to start their Christmas shopping. However, since Christmas is about the birth of Christ, why not take a little time today to go to church and pray? Plan on spending a half hour or so. You can pray the Rosary or other devotions you like, or you can just stay silent and listen for God, the way Saint Brendan did.

Saint Brendan of Birr, pray for us!
