History
Saint
Gall was an Irish missionary who traveled with a group of priests to
Switzerland. Saint Gall became ill, so he had to stay while the others
continued on to Italy. He lived as a hermit, but he was widely known as a very
holy man. Once, he was walking through a forest when a bear threatened him. He
rebuked the bear in the name of Jesus, and the bear stopped its attack and
became Saint Gall’s constant companion.
