November 26: St. Alypius

History

All his life, Saint Alypius just wanted to be by himself and worship God. After seeing a holy vision, he built a church named after St. Euphemia the Martyr and set up a pillar next to it. For 53 years, he stayed on top of the pillar, praying to God and teaching people who came to talk to him. Eventually, two monasteries were built on either side of the pillar, one for men and one for women.

Activity

It's Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., a time to gather with family and friends. But today, find a little time to be by yourself with God. It's so important that we always make worshiping Him the most important part of our day!

St. Alypius, pray for us!

Last year, we learned about St. John Berchmans and the devotion he started. Instructions for making a chaplet to go with the devotion are included in the link.
