History
Saint Robert was a holy and gently monk. He was the abbot of
a monastery in York, and he set a good example for all the other priests by his
holiness. One year, he fasted all through Lent. On Easter Sunday, he was at
last ready to eat some bread sweetened with honey, but as it was being
prepared, he thought it would be a better if he gave the food to the poor who
waited outside the gate.
Activity
Most of us are very lucky to have all the food we could ever
want to eat. But there are many people who don’t. Today, follow Saint Robert’s
example and take some bread and honey to a local food bank or mission. Don’t
forget to pray for the people who will receive your gift of food.
