History
St. Peter Chrysologus was born in Italy in 406. The name "Chrysologus" means "golden-worded". People called him that because as a priest and bishop, he gave short, easy to understand homilies. He also taught people to do corporal and spiritual works of mercy by his own example, and he encouraged everybody to go to Mass as often as possible to receive the Holy Eucharist. In the year 1792, St. Peter Chrysologus was named a Doctor of the Church.Activity
